SCORECARD and COURSE LAYOUT

The club reserves the first three hours of tee times every Tuesday and Thursday morning from April through October.  Tee times are set at ten minutes intervals so there are over 70 slots available.  A seven shot maximum score per hole ensures the pace of play.  Members can play as often or as little as they choose. All members must have internet access (to reserve tee times) and email (for club communications).

Each month there are three tournaments:

  • The Nassau tournament rewards players for individual scores (net and gross), fewest putts, most greens-in-one, closest to the pin and birdies;
  • The Captain’s Choice is a team play format rewarding teams for lowest scores (net and gross)  and fewest putts; and,
  • Other varied tournaments with a different formats each month.

Winners of each tournament are awarded competition points, but anyone who participates in a tournament or non-tournament round is awarded participation points. Points are also given for birdies.  These points translate into prize money (not much) that may be paid out at the end of the season.

Players receive a valid handicap after playing five rounds in the Burke Lake Senior Golf Club.

Additionally, there are two Captain’s Choice away tournaments each year at regulation courses. Playing in these tournaments is optional.

Finally, to celebrate the season there is a luncheon in Fall.
